Rugby Club Toulonnais and Trimane sign a 5-year contract to use Data Intelligence and Machine Learning as a tool to support sports performance.
Toulon, October 27, 2022 – Visionary and ambitious, Rugby Club Toulonnais is actively working to develop the sporting performance of its players while minimizing the risk of injury. To this end, the Rouge et Noir club and Trimane have announced the signature of a five-year strategic agreement, during which Trimane will implement its Coach IQ Data Intelligence and Machine Learning solution. The RCT will contribute all its sporting expertise to optimize this innovative and unique solution.
Sport and Big Data: a winning duo
For several seasons now, data has played an increasingly important role in the world of sport. Indeed, data analysis has become the norm in all professional sports, supporting staff and players alike in their pursuit of advanced analysis and high performance. The use of data and data science in sport is manifold, from analyzing the competitiveness of a squad and the complementarity of players, to injury prevention and recruitment optimization.
Coach IQ, a French Data Intelligence tool
Trimane, a company with 17 years’ experience in data intelligence in France, has developed a set of performance optimization tools based on data science.
Over the past few years, our DataLabs, which bring together almost 100 employees specialized in Data issues, have created several tools from our Research & Development, such as Coach IQ, specialized in high performance sports. The aim of this solution is to offer emblematic and ambitious sports players an adapted digital solution, personalized thanks to several highly precise algorithms.
RCT and COACH IQ
Rugby Club Toulonnais and Coach IQ have joined forces to create a customized platform that will bring together all the data used by the Red and Black club (medical data, GPS data, performance statistics, video analysis). This tool will enable RC Toulon to capitalize on the club’s data and facilitate decision-making (tactical choices, optimization of training plans, performance enhancement, recruitment, etc.).
This collaboration with the legendary Rugby Club Toulonnais will also provide Coach IQ with the expertise of the Red and Black sports staff to compare their Machine Learning algorithms and make them even more effective in accompanying RC Toulon to victory.
